Filing a Notice of Infringement
To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough information (such as the URL) for us to locate it
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), you may be liable for damages if you knowingly materially misrepresent that material is infringing.
Our Response
Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the identified material expeditiously and make a reasonable attempt to notify the person responsible for it, who may submit a counter-notice. If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the infringement.
Repeat Infringers
It is our policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts and hosting of clients or users who are repeat infringers.
Other Abuse Reports
To report other abuse involving a site we host, including malware, phishing, spam, or impersonation, email [email protected] with the subject line “Abuse Report” and include the URL and a description of the issue. We review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include removing content and suspending sites.
